Moments of Zen

The world has gone wack-a-doodle. I thought just my own personal world was out of control, but the real world has once again reminded me that my problems are woefully insignificant compared to the mass stupidity of the rest of the world.
Seriously, what is up with that?
So, today I thought I would share the top ten deliciously wonderful distractions that have been helping to keep Nate and I sane.
10. Having an amazing weekend with our bestest friend Mark
9. The outrageous adorableness of our three sons (who, yes, are a dog and two cats)
8. That the oppressive heat and humidity of Florida summers allows us the opportunity to wear next to nothing and have it be socially acceptable (SCORE!! This is one of favorites!)
7. There is alcohol in the world
6. Enough celebrities behaving badly to keep me laughing at them
5. Good food. ('nuff said). Oh! And, all of my food experiments this week have turned out delicious and we didn't get food poisoning!
4. We don't have to fly anywhere anytime soon!
3. Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Leslie Bibb. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. That movie was flipping hilarious! We laughed so hard we cried. My sides hurt so badly I felt like I had done a major abs workout. I can't wait until this comes out on video, I may even go back and see it in the theater again. It just felt so good to see a ridiculously funny movie that had absolutely no bearing on reality.
2. Family and friends. So many people have been staying in touch and coming to visit! It has been amazing to be connected.
1. John Stewart and Steven Colbert. Because the world has gone crazy and every night these two cut through the crap. They tell the idiots that they're idiots, they point out the gross inaccuracies people are trying to pull off as the truth, and they make us remember that life isn't coming to end and there is something to laugh at... Especially in Florida.
