One`Month
Today Xander is one month old! It is so hard to believe it has only been four weeks. It feels like he has always been part of my life. Based on our own unscientific weigh-in we believe he weighs about 11 pounds, and he is much longer than when he was born. Newborn-size clothes have been stored away for over a week, and he's beginning to stretch his 3-month size clothes. So, clearly he is healthy and growing!
It is challenging caring for every aspect of another humans life 24-hours a day, but he gives me so many gifts! I can already tell he is a determined kid with a strong personality. He loves to study bright and high-contrast objects for long periods of time, he coos and makes other adorable noises, and thinks he can hold his head up (even though he can't yet, but he sure tries!) I can tell he's thinking "as soon as I figure out this moving-around on my own thing, your in trouble!" He just wants to see everything and go everywhere.
Over the weekend we got to celebrate Nate's first Father's Day with his grandparents who made a special surprise visit to meet their new great-grandson. We also got to attend a friends wedding and show-off our new addition. And on the 14th we celebrated our 4th anniversary with a softball game and Steak 'n Shake.
I really don't mind my new sleep schedule, but oh, man does my back hurt from toting around my little chunker!

Lexy,
What special pictures of Xander! It's hard to believe a month has gone by already. So fun to hear your accounts of early life together with X. You are in my thoughts!
