Rainy Days

It's the second gloomy, rainy day in a row. I LOVE rain, most of the time, but this rain makes me feel gloomy, too. It reminds of Tallahassee's gloomy, rainy, frigid winters. I hated winter in Tally. I love our summer afternoon thunderstorms and I love rainy days, but I'm pretty much ready for this rain to end.

I've had a rough few days. Just a word of advice out there for anybody who is ever thinking about being pregnant, or married to someone who is pregnant, sleep is VERY important in the last trimester. Amount, quality of, etc. And apparently position. Nate and I decided to have a lazy weekend, we slept a lot and watched old movies on the couch. It was great, except for the fact that at some point in my sleep I had rolled, ever so slightly, toward my back. This apparently stretched my already stretchy ligaments and made it virtually impossible for me to move my hips, or anything attached to my hips until this morning. I hobbled around the office at work yesterday, everyone kept asking if I was really ok. Luckily Nate was healthy and available. He made me stay off my feet (at home) except for trips to the bathroom. I seem to have most of my mobility restored, now, but I was a little terrified I was stuck that way for the next seven weeks.

Nate's bulging disk in his back is well on the way to being fully healed. He is still being careful, and he is still a little sore from time to time, but on the whole he appears to be nearly healthy again, too.

Tomorrow should be a great day, regardless of the rain. I have my first, and probably only, prenatal massage scheduled for the afternoon (playing a little work hookey!) and then we have our hospital tour. This I am very excited about. Our hospital is brand spanking new, not even a year old yet, and is supposedly equipped with all of this state of the art stuff that will make labor and delivery a dream. I can't wait to separate fact from fiction!
