Milestones!

There have been many milestones this week! Here are the top three:

1. Nate's Birthday! I get to be married to an older man for a month and half every year. He was very happy to finally be back from his trip to Arizona, but the poor guy was exhausted! At least the birthday present I gave him made him feel better. His birthday present was milestone #2.

2. Seeing our baby! We had the big ultrasound at 21 weeks, on Nate's birthday. We are very happy to report we have a healthy baby BOY on the way!! We got to spend 20 minutes looking at him and seeing all of his body parts. He looks healthy, totally average for his age in weight, but already a little above average in legnth. He was moving around a lot, definitely an active kid on the way! Oh, yeah, and we'll most likely be naming him Alexander, but calling him Xander. In fact he's kicking the heck out of me right now, which brings me to milestone #3.

3. Feeling Xander kicking and punching- from the outside! It all started a week ago, I was laying in bed looking at my belly when I swear I saw it move. At the doctors they agreed it was around the time when that would start happening, but it wasn't until Friday night that we knew for sure. We were laying on the couch watching a movie, I had my hand on my belly (as all pregnant women tend to do) and Xander was squirming around, and then BOOM! He punched my right in the forearm! I was pretty sure anyway. And then a second later, BOOM! He did it again. I was so excited, it was much stronger than any other movements he had made. Nate put his hand on my stomach, but Xander was done performing for the evening. Not to be left out, however, first thing Saturday morning Nate tried again. I have a few tricks for getting Xander to move around, so after trying a couple we layed very still, and BAM! That kid nailed me right in the center of my belly, as if to say 'Yes, Dad, I'm right here!' He hit me so hard Nate's hand moved. Nate was very pleased with both himself and his son, and then turned on the TV.... guys will be guys, what can I say?

On another note, Nate is finally back from Arizona. I didn't write much about it before since I didn't want to advertise that Nate was away. He was gone for 16 days (far too long!) and got to drive through several states he had never seen before. Of course the highlight of the trip was being on the field as his team won the National Championship. If you saw the opening kickoff returned for a touchdown then you probably saw Nate standing over the OSU players rolling in the end zone. He had a blast, and came home with a bunch of souvenirs.

Finally, my new job is off and running, so far so good!

Hope everyone is doing well!
