Spaceballs Child

One of my all time favorite movies is Spaceballs. I know every line of the movie, and as a child it helped me to develop my deep appreciation of comedy and commentary. I thought I had a deep appreciation for this movie, but I have found an even deeper appreciation in the last week or so. [Note: for those who don't know me as well, this blog should be read with a great amount of humor.]

They tell you when you get pregnant that you will understand things in a new way, you will appreciate your parents for things you had never thought of, things like that. So, it was completely shocking when I finally fully understood the diner scene in Spaceballs. You see, Xander had been kicking and punching hard. No, hard isn't a good word...... he's mutilating my insides! He's not just kicking, and I'm not just feeling it. This kid is moving around inside, and you can see it OUTSIDE. Seriously, its just like the end of Spaceballs in the diner when the alien comes out of the Pluto guys stomach. I'm hoping if Xander does actually pop out by accident that he at least has a nice tap dance prepared, like the alien.

In keeping with my quirky mood tonight, I am listening to the CD my sweet husband burned and left for my on my computer. Its Lily Allen, and she is the perfect quirky blend of many of my favorite music genres. Now, I'm gonna go put my feet up and try to weather the latest storm of exercise from my son.
