Heartburn sucks!
Heartburn sucks! I don't know why some foods or days give it to me worse than others, but they do. Pregnancy has so many odd side effects!
I really don't have much to talk about this week. And of course what I do have to say is primarily baby related, but you are all just gonna have to get used to that, because apparently when you give birth you also give over you ability to talk about anything else! Hehe. Just being funny. So, what have I been up to lately? Well, work has been really great! I am soooo glad I took this job! It has been wonderful to be able to utilize all of these skills I have acquired over the last 10 years. And of course feeling vitally useful is an awesome and fulfilling feeling as well. I spend most of my time using my technical skills with GIS, making location maps, looking at soil and environmental issues that may indicate the existence of a site, taking independent sets of data, merging it together, separating out the useful data, and outputting a whole new set of information. It really makes me feel good. Now, I'm also getting the chance to do more of the archaeology side of things (imagine that!) I'm finishing up my first report now, and already have two more on my desk for next week. I'm admittedly a little rusty, but the brain still works!!
As far as Xander is concerned, he is doing well! He moves quite a lot, not so much punching and kicking anymore (as he is starting to run out of extra room) and a lot more of the adjusting and squirming around. It is just too weird to be sitting at your desk working when all of a sudden a large lump just appears on the side, front, or top of your bulbous stomach. The lump just hangs out for a minute or two and then moves on. Sometimes to somewhere else on my body, most of the time just back where the knee or leg or arm came from. It's just so weird!
I picked up the special low VOC paint at Sherwin Williams today for the nursery!! Nate and Lauren will be painting up a storm this weekend!! I can't believe the nursery is actually becoming a reality! I guess I better sign up for my birthing classes soon! I can't spend this much time working on stuff for the baby and not spend time learning about taking care of the baby. Well, I could, but that would just be silly!!
Xanders first friend should be born in the next week! He or she is unfortunately in a breech position at the moment, but a C-section has been scheduled for Tuesday in case he/she doesn't move back into place. All should be well, and we are so excited! It will be our turn in 10+ weeks!
I don't have any new pictures this week, but I know I'll have plenty next week!! Hope everyone is doing well, and for everyone taking a spring break- enjoy!
